Contrary to THIS Houston Chronicle report, approximately 30 protesters blocked access to small businesses and disrupted services used by visual & hearing impaired Houstonians yesterday. The building, at 3311 Richmond Avenue, houses the Texas Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services office. Texas DARS, in conjunction with two State agencies, recently produced two American Sign Language videos on West Nile Virus Prevention.
The protesters, according to eyewitness reports and the below photos but NOT mentioned in the Houston Chronicle article, put themselves forth to be members of HOPE; the Houston Organization of Public Employees and the Texas Organizing Project. My source also verified bullhorns and foul language were used and protesters went into individual offices that have no association with the Harris County Republican Party, also located in the same building.
Attached are pictures taken (and printed here with permission of the photographer) of the protestors INSIDE the building with bullhorns (peaceful protest, right?).
If these miscreants are so upset over Mayor Parker’s decision to provide tax incentives for the construction of luxury high rise homes..if they’re so angry over the President’s Food & Drug Administration decision to revoke use of Avastin in breast cancer treatment, maybe they should be protesting outside Houston City Hall, the White House or the Harris County Democratic Party offices?

It's pretty sad when those with grievances do not know how to map out an appropriate target. This explains why the nation is on the abyss of losing freedom and individual rights.Sheep like this are easily led astray by their criminal handlers and distracted by racial politics.

This is what democracy looks like. If these were Tea Party protesters I doubt you would have the same attitude.
Rhymes W. Right says
If these were Tea party protesters, they would not be forcing their way through the door, but would be identified by the press as violent racists out to destroy America.
Durrel K. Douglas says
Btw, where is the Tea Party? Hadn't seen them recently.
Rhymes W. Right says
I'd argue they are working to kick Obama to the curb.
Durrel K. Douglas says
This peaceful protest was a demonstration of pure democracy. While billions are cut from public education in our state, everyday citizens should have a right to voice their opinion–and they do, so they did.
Rhymes W. Right says
Yeah — if one defines "peaceful protest" and "pure democracy" as trespassing, obstructing access to unrelated businesses and government offices, foul language directed at bystanders and other general purpose misdemeanors and examples of incivility.
Durrel K. Douglas says
Were you there Rhymes? How were we obstructing access to unrelated businesses and government offices? If trespassing occurred, why were there no arrests? This is "pure democracy" at its finest. When patriots express themselves peacefully, liberty prevails!
Rhymes W. Right says
Read the report above — and look at the pictures — for the evidence.
As for why there were no arrests, that is simple — Mayor Parker has so politicised HPD that they won't enforce the law when it makes her opponents look bad.
