512-879-4060RPT Chairman James Dickey Reaffirms Call For Unity Across Republican Party
AUSTIN, TX – Republican Party of Texas Chairman James Dickey released the following statement the day after the Republican Runoff Election, when the full slate of Republican Nominees for the General Election was finalized.
“I want to congratulate all of the Republican nominees on their Primary and Runoff victories,” said Chairman James Dickey. “Texas is exceptional, and it has remained that way because it is a beacon for what limited government and economic freedom can achieve. This is due to those who have fought to promote policies that will keep the Texas economy at the forefront of job creation and innovation. Seeing the final results I know the Texas miracle will continue because Republicans across the state will come together in unity to fight to elect our great slate of nominees.
“But the Democrats are not going to give up on Texas. Francis “Beto” O’Rourke and Lupe Valdez are fighting for higher taxes and more regulations that will ruin the Texas economy. That’s why I am calling on all Republicans to unite and support the Republican ticket in the general election. I look forward to working with all of our nominees to making certain Texas remains free, prosperous, and strong!”

Good grief. This guy cast the deciding vote to censure the Texas Speaker of the House Joe Straus. He was complicit in denying a booth (a freaking booth!) to a group of Republicans that don’t meet his standards. He touts his fundraising ability by saying that a “major” donor is funding the party but refuses to name that donor until the reports are due AFTER the convention. His candidates just got their asses kicked in the primary runoffs.
But hey, unity!
