KUHF has a story on Monday’s Texas Organizing Project protest outside Congressman Pete Olson’s Fort Bend County office. The protestors, according to their website, were adamant that cuts to Medicaid programs would block people with disabilities from receiving vital & necessary services.
Oh wait!
Wasn’t this disability-friendly group the same bunch of knuckle-heads that actually blocked disabled peopled from entering a Texas Disability Assistance office on Richmond Avenue in Harris County last August?
If the Texas Organizing Project doesn’t want $100 Billion in cuts to Medicaid, they should be protesting outside the White House or pressuring Sheila Jackson Lee outside HER Harris County office. After all, President Obama supported those Medicaid cuts.
..and one more thing.
I don’t know who the Chief Community Organizer at TOP is (well, I actually do and it’s a story for another time) but this group obviously needs a better community organizer; maybe someone who owns a GPS?? They keep bullying people with disabilities, keep protesting outside the wrong building; and this time they were protesting in the wrong COUNTY!
Look, I get that KUHF and the Houston Chronicle want to perpetuate the narrative that they do. What I don’t understand is why they enjoy seeing their fellow citizens remain ignorant in the process.
