On November 1st and November 5th, two employers with operations in Lamb and Dallas Counties submitted WARN mass layoff notices to the Texas Workforce Commission. Additionally, on November 7th, the day AFTER Harris County voted to layoff fellow Texans, Hawker Beechcraft announced its San Antonio facilities would begin the process of closing.
110 employees of Plains Cotton Cooperative Association in Littlefield and 600 employees of Navistar Truck Group in Garland will lose their jobs over the Christmas holiday season (01/05/2013 and 12/31/2012, respectively).
Go visit the Navistar Truck, PCCA and Hawker Beechcraft websites. I’m certain you’ll see pictures of all the “fat cat rich” truck drivers, school children, mechanics and middle class families’ whose lives will be devastated by the loss of these jobs.

So did solyndra. Dumping money one time into a company does NOT guarantee that they will be able to pay their employees when people lose their jobs and stop spending money, or when taxes go WAY up under Obamacare. There will be lots more to come.
