Whoa. When I received the following from the Craig James campaign yesterday, I sorta shrugged and blew it off. But you know what? The more I think about it, the more I think that I should have been all over this thing last night. Because frankly, it is rare that we get a view of an honest citizen trying to win an election by being, well, honest. Check this out:
Kudos to Craig James for giving us yet another view into the morally bankrupt Cruz campaign. They’ve put out false ads about Lt. Gov. Dewhurst; Ted himself talks about Dewhurst being too old at 67 to make a difference; Ted calls Air Force and CIA veteran Dewhurst timid while casting himself, a law school veteran, as a fighter; the staff fills Twitter hashtag #txsen with false and negative tweets; and the latest garbage is Ted refusing to distance himself from Dick Armey (one of his biggest supporters) saying that Lt. Gov. Dewhurst is living off “daddy’s money“. For the record, again, Lt. Gov’ Dewhurst’s Dad was a decorated soldier and was killed by a drunk driver when the Lt. Gov. was three years old. The Lt. Gov.’s success comes from, as I noted here, his faith and his mother’s wish for him to be the type of man his father and grandfather were. Gary Scharrer over at the San Antonio Express News quotes Cruz spokesman James Bernsen with the typical Cruz campaign response, who cares if we try to rig the questions?
Can Craig James make inroads by being honest? Few have tried, that’s for sure. I wish him the best and hope he sets a trend by doing this.
how do we know that is actually from Ted’s phone? I can name any name to a number in an Iphone and have it pop up as such. In fact i could take a picture of a txt from “ed Hubbard” or from “david jennings” and make it a supposed conversation about how they were asking me for money to be endorsed by this blog… (joke).
Proof again that anonymous commenters don’t read links. Ted’s campaign acknowledged that he sent the text.

Craig James should have handled this directly with Ted Cruz. The only reason he didn’t was so he could play the honesty card – which he does NOT possess based on previous incidents. Now we can add tattle-tale to helicopter dad, uninformed, egotistical and delusional.
