Fort Bend County Commissioners sure know how to take care of their own when it comes to the awarding of big bucks contracts using taxpayer bond money.
Not only does Fulshear Mayor Tommy Kuykendall’s employer CivilCorp get contracts for big bucks with the City of Rosenberg, his company also gets big bucks contracts with Fort Bend County.
Fort Bend County Commissioners Court meeting agenda dated 9/22/2015 contained a copy of an agreement for this agenda item (emphasis mine):
Take all appropriate action on Agreement for Professional Engineering Services between CivilCorp, LLC and Fort Bend County in an amount not to exceed $535,212.42, pursuant to SOQ 14-025, regarding Katy Flewellen Road, Mobility Bond Project No. 13316, Precinct 3. (Fund: 2013 Mobility Bonds)
And April 28, 2015 draft meeting minutes of a City of Rosenberg workshop reflect John Maresh, Assistant City Manager of Public Services “introduced Thomas Kuykendall of CivilCorp to give an update” on a $2.4 million Old Richmond Road reconstruction project.
Exit question: who stands to financially benefit from the new seven mile four-lane highway from FM 1093 all the way up to I-10 located just west of Cross Creek Ranch?
Mayor Kuykendall is right–the City of Fulshear IS on a lot of peoples radar screen.
