Houston will be the host city for the 2013 National Rifle Association Convention. Scheduled for May 3rd – 5th at the George R. Brown Convention Center, the NRA Annual Meeting & Exhibits website highlights over 500 exhibitors & 400,000 square feet of exhibit floor space, educational seminars, the attendance of various celebrities and fun-filled special events.

Earlier this week Sheila Jackson Lee issued a clarion-call for Americans to “turn in their guns”. No wonder Houston’s gun-owning Mayor Parker was so quick to throw the Congresswoman under the bus. Mayor Parker knew the convention was coming to town.

Will the Congresswoman now demand Houston restaurants, hotels and other businesses surrender their profits earned from law-abiding NRA members over to the Feds?

That’s the next logical step, right Sheila? If your guns aren’t safe, then your property isn’t safe. If your property isn’t safe, then your life, liberty & children aren’t safe.

* On another note, I dare Sheila Jackson Lee to knock on every door in the Third Ward, plaster signs all over the TSU campus near her home and tell her constituents to turn in their guns; they’re obviously not needed for self-defense.
