Harris County Assistant District Attorney Brad Hart has been named Texas' "Prosecutor of the Year" by the Texas Narcotics Officers Association for his work with major narcotics investigations. The award is given to recognize outstanding accomplishments during the year in the area of drug enforcement.
Hey, how about that? I actually know the "Prosecutor of the Year"! I'm special that way. 😉
Nah, Brad is the special one with a special family. I met his wife Cary when she was running for Judge of County Criminal Court-at-Law #3 in the 2010 primary. Their daughter was in of one of my favorite pictures from that primary because it shows that it isn't just the person running that has to go to these events if you happen to have a young family.
Now it is Brad's turn to try his hand at politics. He is running in the Republican primary for the bench of the 339th Court, hoping for the opportunity to unseat Judge Maria Jackson, who was swept in on the Obama hope and change charade in 2008. Thus far he doesn't have an opponent but the filing deadline is still months away and anything can happen. The Republican field is taking shape and thus far, I like what I'm seeing. Murray Newman has an up to date listing of candidates over at Life at the Harris County Courthouse.
Get to know Brad and Cary and you'll see what I mean when I say they are special people.
