The KHOU story highlighted a student at an Aldine ISD alternative school facility who was charged with assault and arrested after he allegedly threw a bottle of lotion at a teacher. The 17 year old was charged with assault on a public servant and, at the time the story was posted, remained in jail on a $5000 bond.
Fort Bend ISD Board of Trustee member Bruce Albright, took to Facebook to post this
The commenter is spot on–is this who should represent the interests of young people in Fort Bend County?
From everything I’ve personally observed and learned about FBISD Superintendent Dr. Dupree, Dupree is committed to all District personnel adhering to the highest ethical standards and conduct. I’m not calling for BOT Albright to be terminated, mind you–but ask all ISD candidates be vetted not only the issues facing the district but their adherence to ethical codes of conduct.

It is offensive to me that any ISD member state “get a rope”. It is a very good point on the juvenile. Who represents them? Shouldn’t there be a code of conduct for the ISD in these situations as far as public commentary? It raises numerous questions.
Rhymes W. Right says
Correct me if I am wrong, but isn’t Albright an elected official? If so, then the superintendent cannot terminate him — and likely cannot take any action against him. It would be up to the voters.
Ross says
That’s what I was thinking as well. Superintendents can be terminated by the board, but the opposite cannot happen.. in any case, the rush to judgement here, even if the event did happen as alleged, and the “judge, jury, and executioner” tone of the remark, are completely inappropriate for an elected official, and reflect an utter lack of common sense and judgement. Not that I expect voters to think there’s anything wrong with the statement.

Good call. Some people say stupid things. This man is stupid and how did he get elected. Aldine ISD has been plagued with news making incidents lately. Bruce Abbots tweet does not make the bottle thrower’s action less serious. I do not get the lap dancing teacher episode. The teacher did not think anything was wrong. More money thrown at education is not the answer to these problems.
Jack O'Connor says
I believe the Board can expel him for misconduct.
