I love parades! When I was a wee jolly, parades were the best thing that came along. The last couple of parades I’ve gone to haven’t been well attended. Which is a major bummer! Hey people, take your kids to parades!
Anyways, here are some of the pictures I took:

I guess parades are still a thing but I’ve checked out of them. Our car club used to drive in the front of several parades years ago and we had a blast doing it. Except for the poor guy that drew the Sheila Jackson Lee card. Sometimes she showed up, sometimes she didn’t. Sometimes she came with a bunch of kids she wanted to be seen with. She was always last minute.
Not wanting a perfectly gleaming convertible to go out empty we would find somebody to sit in her space and then she’d show up and make a scene to get her spot back. Our big three were the St Patrick’s Day, the MD Anderson Children’s and the Conroe Rodeo Parades. We did the Thanksgiving Day Parade a couple of times too. That Conroe parade still kicks off the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo run of events with the trail riders coming in that week.
