Harris County Judge Emmett, Preservation Houston and the National Trust for Historic Preservation are sponsoring a special 50th birthday party for Harris County's "Eighth Wonder of the World," offering a free celebrationof music, food, drinks and souvenirs while supplies last, followed by a rare opportunity for the public to go inside the historic Astrodome for a quick photo with friends and family. Organizers expect several thousand guests to celebrate Harris County's most iconic and recognizable building. Guests may park free of charge starting at 5:30 p.m. in NRG Park's red lot, just northwest of the Astrodome and north of NRG Stadium.
