This is the strongest message that I’ve seen from the Harris County Republican Party this cycle, asking John Culberson’s challenger if she will condemn the Democrat mob:
Will Democrat politicians who preach bipartisanship condemn their crazed left-wing mob?
- How about it, Lizzie Fletcher?
If Lizzie Fletcher were elected to Congress, her first vote would be to re-crown ultra-partisan Nancy Pelosi–a financier and key supporter of her campaign–Speaker of the House. That would be just the start, as Lizzie voted for amnesty, government-controlled healthcare, and more left-wing schemes pushed by her East Coast & New York backers.
Outrageous misbehavior by Democrat politicians and their cohorts has shown the chaos a Democrat Congress would bring. After their baseless obstruction and delay of Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s Supreme Court nomination had failed and his confirmation was imminent, they trotted out a string of uncorroborated, outlandish allegations to personally destroy Justice Kavanaugh and his family. After the Senate confirmed his nomination–despite death threats, and protesters shrieking and yelling in the Senate galleries as the vote took place–a mob of crazed left-wing activists stormed the Supreme Court, clawing and pounding on the doors of the Court.
Mob violence has no place in America. Assaulting political opponents and disrupting congressional proceedings degrade our constitutional Republic. Storming the doors of a courthouse may be the new Left-wing norm in Washington. But a Texas member of Congress should represent Texans–not New York. Lizzie Fletcher, will you condemn those who foment and practice these mob tactics?
These appalling tactics will not intimidate Republicans. We will organize, mobilize, and VOTE. Onward to victory.

Culberson is my rep out here in west Houston. Methinks you repubs are getting nervous. Beto has caught fire and if he drags enough new voters with him Lizzy might just eek out a victory. I wouldn’t bet on it, Texas being red, but, November is coming and rigjt now it’s a 40 percent chance and climbing.

You would have loved climbing the steps in Machu Picchu, walking on the floating reed islands on Lake Titicaca, breathing the thin cool clean Andean air after a long hike and fishing for pirrhana in a small boat in the Amazon. You probably flew right over the violent horde of Hondurans headed to storm America, with their Honduran flags and total disregard for the law. The issue is, the more unhinged and violent leftists are, the more normal, typically middle of the road, apolitical people are going to flee the left, and leftist candidates.
Trump has called it correctly….this election is about Kavanaugh, it’s about the violent horde headed to our border, it’s about law and order. You’re on the wrong side of all three of those, at least here in Texas.
Bill, last year we had to rebuild after Harvey as did most of our neighbors. Guess who did the work? That’s right, undocumented workers mostly from El Salvador. If I waited for “Americans” to do the work we’d still be in an apartment. They did a good job for a fair price. Houston should be thankful for these hard workers.

Culberson is probably going to prevail. He was 48-45 in the NY Times polling before the Kavanaugh hearings. Real Clear Politics doesn’t have any polling after the hearings. However, if you look at the Cruz/Beto polling it’s a really interesting take away.
Since polls results include weights by turnout modeling the question arose was the GOP bump the result of different weighting on turnout or did it actually change opinions. Going back and breaking the polling down by demographic without weighting showed a move outside the margin of error as follows:
White men: statistically significant for Republicans.
White women: no statistically significant change
Blacks: statistically significant change for Republicans.
Hispanics: statistically significant change for Democrats.
Overall: No statistically significant change for Republicans, but a statistically significant change against Democrats.
That overall pattern doesn’t bode well for Lizzie. No statistically significant bump in white women is bad news for her. She likely already has topped out the white woman vote she can get so no bump there. Culberson likely gets a small bump from white men including a nominal amount of switch from Lizzie to him. With him already at 48% that likely gets him reelected unless turnout is way under estimating the Republican turnout.

Republicans had better not start telling the truth, for if they do it will destroy their reputation for veracity.
