Click here to read my original entry on the enablers. Here are his picks this time around:
Justice, Supreme Court, Pl 3 | Rick Green |
State Rep, District 127 | Dan Huberty |
State Rep, District 149 | Jack O’Connor |
District Judge, 180th | Danny Dexter |
Family District Judge | James Lombardino |
Justice of the Peace, Pct 5, Pl 2 | George Huntoon |
HCRP Chair | Jared Woodfill |
Like I said, not exactly rocket science. To view the front page of the runoff edition, click here. I spoke with Mr. Lowry last night and he told me that he would most likely put this edition online at TerryLowry.com.
We don’t yet know how much this edition cost the candidates but each of them purchased full page ads with the exception of Jack O’Connor. The eight day out reporting date is next Monday, which is also the first day of early voting. So we should know something by Wednesday, the 7th, unless the candidates used an intermediary to purchase the ads, as some did for the primary.
So how do you get unlinked? Simple, vote for the other candidate. I’ll spell it out for you:
Justice, Supreme Court, Pl 3 | Debra Lehrmann |
State Rep, District 127 | Dr. Susan Curling |
State Rep, District 149 | Dianne Williams |
District Judge, 180th | Marc Brown |
Family District Judge | Alice O’Neil |
Justice of the Peace, Pct 5, Pl 2 | Jeff Williams |
HCRP Chair | Ed Hubbard |
Voting that slate is pretty much the only way to fight back against these types of advertising slates. As Mr. Lowry would say, make a hundred copies and take them with you to the voting location and pass them out! Pack your car with people when you head to the polls!
The main reason for my call to Mr. Lowry last night was not to ask about this edition of the Link Letter. It was to ask about a copy of a letter that he purportedly sent out some time ago. This past weekend I received several copies of it, with names and dates redacted. I was given the names and dates separately but do not have permission to use them, supposedly because doing so would “taint” the others undeservedly. If it were up to me, I’d give you the names and dates so that you could decide for yourself, but it isn’t up to me. I think that anyone that plays this game has tainted themselves but again, I haven’t been given permission to release the names. Besides which, the names I’ve been give might be wrong, which is why I called Mr. Lowry.
Mr. Lowry told me that he couldn’t comment on something he hadn’t seen, so I emailed him a copy. I followed that up this morning with another email, asking for comment. I suppose that he has chosen to remain silent, the same path he took when a respected member of the Vietnamese community accused him of offering to sell his endorsement for $10,000.
Do with this information as you wish. But I promise you that if the Republicans in Harris County were to get “un-linked”, the Harris County Republican Party would be far better off.
