Illinois Democrat Congressman Luis Gutierrez gave the keynote address to members of the Mexican American Bar Association of Houston & attendees of their Sponsorship Gala this past Thursday. He knew MABAH encourages its members to participate in pro-bono legal services and to promote a better understanding of the legal profession to the Hispanic community and to the general public.
He knew the judges, attorneys and law students in the room were like him (scroll to the 2:40 minute mark):
“I’m not sending my daughter to LSU to work the fields—nobody in this room is sending their kids to school to work the fields—“
Gutierrez was quite comfortable explaining that Americans have a decision to make and it involves rewarding those who choose to send their kids to the U.S. to pick crops:
“but someone wants to…and we have to make a decision…are foreign hands who would pick the food that we eat each and every day in foreign countries or do we want them picking food here? And if they do we should reward…”
But not reward so future generations could attend school to become a doctor or a lawyer.
Just the opposite; no mention of acquiring technical trade skills or a college degree–just keep them in the fields so they can join a union.
“…we should acknowledge those that do dirty, filthy, back breaking work which is necessary to our economy with legalization with the fact they can join a union…”
Yep, join a union so the union bosses can shake them down for union dues.
P.S. At the 1:45 minute mark Gutierrez recounted his trips to Salinas, California where he observed women “ashamed to show their legs because they kneel all day digging garlic”….and on visits to South Texas “watched people pick onions in the sun that gives them no rest…”
Perhaps the Congressman is not familiar with the labor cost savings associated with using garlic and onion harvesters.

Mind-blowing corruption. I guess Gutierrez has never seen white people kneeling and doing manual labor in the fields, he should see my husband in action. What a total race-divider. In any case, I hope they enjoyed the music.

Golly, a Chicago Dem who is a union hack!
