I don’t care who you intend to vote for in the run-off for Lt. Gov., the despicable attacks on Sen. Dan Patrick make me sick. If you live in Harris County, particularly in the northeast are, Dan will be speaking at the regular meeting of the Kingwood Tea Party this Monday evening.
Kingwood Tea is the most influential tea party in Harris County and they have supported Dan from the start of this race, so it makes sense that he would be speaking there in the closing days of the race.
I’m sickened by the type of attacks that the guy I support, David Dewhurst, has put out in the last two months. The worst possible thing he could have done was take on Jerry Patterson and let him have control of his campaign, which is why I coined the term “Dewtterson”.
It would be awesome if so many people showed up at this meeting that they had to move it outdoors. You don’t have to support Dan or vote for him to know that what the Dewtterson campaign, along with one compliant media outlet, has done to Dan is just plain wrong. I’ll have more on this later but for now, mark your calendar and show up in Kingwood Monday evening.

I think you should see the backstory to some of the latest information about Dan Patrick. If it is information that is true – is it an attack? Voters can decide if it is relevant. If his campaign manager wants the information out there, is it because they want to blame the Lt. Governor for putting it out even when he had nothing to do with it? I had personally known of some of his bad behavior years ago. Is it still relevant or does it speak to his character?
I have also seen Dan Patrick use his radio station to relentlessly attack people with lies and half truths- people that are good Republicans but maybe did not support him. Is that what we want to lead the Senate? That has been his style. Do we want Washington style politics in Texas?

There’s no dispute that the information is true, but it happened more than 30 years ago. What relevance does it have to this campaign? Patterson has turned out to be a bitter, mudslinging lowlife. Dewhurst should be ashamed of himself for allowing his to be attached to this garbage.

Dan’s business partner and former talk show host/state senator Mike Richards endorses Dewhurst:
“No one in Texas knows these two men up close and personal as I do. That’s why Cynthia and I unequivocally support David Dewhurst for re-election. … I was in business with both men, I watched how they did business, I watched how they treated people, and I’m in a position that no one else in Texas is in, to make a judgment between the two men.”

No thank you.
While Senator Goeb-Patrick deserves compassion on this issue, that is a different question than whether he should be the Lieutenant Governor of the great State of Texas.
There’s too much smoke with this man for there not to be a blazing fire. Habitual lying and hiding info, physical altercations (including with women), racial slurs, verbal assaults, poor and sketchy finances, praising Dewhurst one year then ripping him the next, ambushing Ted Cruz on air one year then ripping Jerry Patterson for playing the same role the next year, lending his campaign $1 million while not repaying creditors, constantly playing the victim. You have to be blind not to see the problems here.
On top of this, he hasn’t accomplished a single plank of the Patrick Pact with Texas that he first ran on to get elected to the Senate. Not one. Why should we believe all the stuff he says he’ll get done as Lt Gov?
The bottom line is, love em or hate em, Texas state government has outperformed the other 49 states since 2003 largely due to the policymaking of Rick Perry, David Dewhurst, Tom Craddick, and Joe Straus. The first two men were the only ones there for the whole ride. Facts are stubborn things.

While Senator Goeb-Patrick deserves compassion on this issue, there’s too much smoke emanating from him for there not to be a blazing fire.
Besides, the Senator has not accomplished a single thing in his Patrick Pact with Texas that he ran on in 2006 to get elected. Not one. Why should we believe that he’ll suddenly fix that?
Love em or hate em, a big reason that Texas state government has outperformed the other 49 states since 2003 is four men: Rick Perry, David Dewhurst, Tom Craddick, and Joe Straus. Only the first two were on duty for the whole ride.
Facts are stubborn.

Tom Craddick has endorsed Dan Patrick, as well as at least 3 incumbent state senators and 3 senate nominees for the general election. In addition, 26 state reps have endorsed Patrick, mostly incumbents but a few nominees.
I did a search on Dewhurst’s endorsements just before posting this, and he does not list a single endorsement from a state senator or rep. Compare the endorsements listed by both candidates. Pretty slim pickings for a 12-year incumbent.
To my knowledge, neither Perry nor Straus have endorsed either one.
On the personal-attack campaign that Dewhurst has chosen to run, three incumbent state senators, all three medical doctors and endorsing Patrick, have condemned these attacks on Patrick, concluding their statement with they “. . . would encourage [Dewhurst] to stop the negative personal attacks and focus his campaign on the issues. Senator Patrick’s campaign has focused squarely on issues and on finding solutions to the challenges facing Texas, which is why his message is resonating with a majority of Republican voters.”
State Senator Jane Nelson issued a statement Friday morning:
“As chair of the Senate’s Health and Human Services Committee, I was shocked at the recent attack on one of our members, invading his medical privacy — and hitting a new low in Texas politics. At a time when we are working so hard for society to accept mental health as they would any other medical condition, it is despicable to turn Senator Patrick’s private health information from 30 years ago into a campaign issue. We are better than this.”

Not this primary, we will see in November.

Anyone have a Harris County tea party endorsed list of candidates for the early voting this week?
