“We deal on immigration issues more than we do any other issue except with maybe for the military ; trying to help people get into the United States legally… and the system is just broken across the board..we’ve had people come over here for ya know..as the movie was…the “Greek Wedding concept”…they were coming over here for a wedding…mama couldn’t get here from Athens….or whether you want to come over here to a conference…and they can’t get in!”
Ted Poe, I think you should tell that same joke about immigration problems for conference & wedding attendees to Laura Wilkerson , whose 18 year old son was murdered in Texas by an illegal alien.
Via Breitbart:
“After ultimately strangling Josh to death, the illegal immigrant then tied Josh up, took him to a field, doused him with gas and burned him. The illegal immigrant was sentenced to life in prison this January”

Hear, hear Big Jolly.
Suezette Griffin says

Hear, hear was on purpose. Finally something I wanted to hear that we agreed on! Slight dig no mean-spiritedness intended just friendly ribbing.
Liz Theiss says
What happened to the Judge.. He used to talk about colonization. Yes…there is little time to talk about the reality of the crime wave but the realities that construction or farmers face are his only focus now.He will be on Matt Patrick on Wed.
Suezette Griffin says
why Dale Huls I don't believe I've ever seen you be mean-spirited. truthful and forthright, yes…mean about it no. 🙂
Dale Huls says
Trust me Suezette, I got a mean side, just not enough democrats around here for it to come out much!

Hear here!

STREET RUMOR HAS IT THAT TED IS NOW IN NORM ADAM'S BACK POCKET… OFCOURSE ALL NORMAN WANTS IS TO MAKE ANOTHER BUCK OFF THE BACK OF MORE ILLEGALS!
Karen says
Stan, maybe you shouldn’t listen to rumors??? “What has this nation come to? It’s getting harder and harder to recognize America,” Cruz said. “We’re now considering a law that is thinly disguised as human trafficking.”

Our immigration system is not broke. Our immigration laws are good, but there is no desire to enforce them, either by this administration or any administration going back to Reagan. Reagan signed the Immigration Reform & Control Act into law in 1986. The only thing we got out of IRCA was amnesty and that's all we'll get this time. 99{997ab4c1e65fa660c64e6dfea23d436a73c89d6254ad3ae72f887cf583448986} of the provisions in this 2013 immigration reform travesty were in IRCA, with the exception of e-verify, which was not available in 1986. The boarder protection provisions in IRCA were either never implemented or only partially funded. The bio-metric tracking system that the Republicans are so crazy about was in IRCA and supposed to be fully implemented by 1992, it was never fully funded and fast forward to 2013, there 1 million + legal immigrants in this country that the government has no idea where they are. IRCA cost the American taxpayer $78.7 billion between 1986-1996 because the fees, fines & penalties that were supposed to fund IRCA were diverted to other areas by the government. IRCA legalized 2.7 illegal aliens between 1986-1996, but the last IRCA application was processed in 2009, so how many did it really legalize and how did it really cost the American taxpayer. This time we'll legalized in excess of 20 million and the cost to the American taxpayer? Thank of the current national debt. In 2009, we allowed 1.3 million to migrate legally into the US. Of that amount, over 535,000 were unemployed (spouses, kids, students). This entire amnesty travesty and shown for what it is: more votes for the democrats, more cheap labor for big business. This whole thing can be debunked, but there's not enough space. Download IRCA.

You are missing the point on this. We have a system now that does a poor job of keeping the people who walk or swim across borders out of the country, while doing a great job of keeping out people who ought to be allowed in and who use the legal process. If Poe’s office is spending much time at all helping people get their relatives here for a wedding, or helping a conference get internationally known speakers permission to enter, then there’s something wrong with that specific process, and the agencies responsible for enforcing those laws are doing a poor job.

WRM, Poe’s words & your comment point to a problem highlighted in the article “Border Wedding Ceremony Highlights Immigration Battle”. Here is the link to the Texas Tribune story

Falsely claiming to be a US citizen….part of 1996 legislation signed by Clinton.
“A 1996 immigration bill signed by then-President Bill Clinton made falsely claiming U.S. citizenship an offense so serious that it barred offenders from ever reentering the country. Falcon said that in 2005, when oral declarations of citizenship were still common, Valtierra’s older sister incorrectly claimed that the siblings were U.S. citizens. Falcon said he and his fiancee did not realize how dire the situation was until they decided to get married and visited the U.S. Consulate in Ciudad Juárez.”

They all know & have heard time & time again both in D.C. & TX. During the 2007, 2009 & 2011 sessions of the TX Legislature TX immigration group activists testified about the victims of illegal alien crime in Texas until we were blue in the face. AND we helped to get the Wilkerson family (& other families of TX victims) in to testify before State Affairs on the many bills that were introduced to end dangerous sanctuary city policies (& other things) in TX. The TX legislature HAD (HAS) the power to do something to protect its citizens against this madness & the MAJORITY of members have chosen time & time again to do NOTHING NADA! All of this "urgency" to pass legislation like SB 744 is based on deception & lies. Illegal aliens ARE NOT in the shadows, they are buying homes, cars, opening bank accounts. They also are taking jobs that American citizens would do & they ARE taking benefits they are not entitled to. Yes, we need to work on reforming our legal immigration policies but on OUR timeline & ONLY after we have a way to determine WHO the people coming in REALLY are and their true intentions. If there is a legitimate need for guest workers at some point-in-time, we MUST have a way of keeping up with them to make sure they leave when they are suppose to and that they don't bring in their family members. By the way, I understand Mexico's economy is doing great, they have an EXTREMELY low unemployment rate & since Carlos Salas was elected Fiscal del Estado de Chiuahua – Ciudad Juarez murders are down by 93{997ab4c1e65fa660c64e6dfea23d436a73c89d6254ad3ae72f887cf583448986}! Time to go home folks……then if you still want to come to the U.S. get in the back of the line – in the REAL line back in your home country & apply to come legally! And to all the foolish leaders (and mindless followers) of the GOP – do your own research and look at the 30+ years of stats on immigrant voting patterns provided by Pew Hispanic Research (and others) before you jump off the cliff & bring in MILLIONS of new Democrat voters! Idiots….
