Unfortunately, the total isn’t complete. As you can see above, the amounts candidates Bradshaw-Hull, Clinton, Guzman, and Sumners aren’t included. In Bradshaw-Hull and Guzman’s cases, there is no line item for Mr. Lowry – either they need to file corrected reports or Mr. Lowry was paid through a consultant. In Clinton’s case, his eight day out report isn’t viewable yet on the Harrisvotes ethics website but will be soon enough. In Sumners’ case, no eight day out report is listed on the Harrisvotes webstie. Also, I suspect that candidate Stan Stanart will have another entry – his full page ad most likely cost him more than $3,000 but we won’t know until his eight day out report is viewable. In each case, the advertisment in the Link Letter states: “Paid for by” the respective campaign.
So, basically, for one primary election cycle, these guys gave Terry Lowry roughly $200,000 to spew his hate and distort Christianity. Like I said previously, I will not be voting for a single one of these candidates, not because they aren’t good people/candidates, but because they enable the type of political behavior that is shrinking the Harris County Republican Party. And because they enable a man that makes a mockery of Christianity daily.
Do with the information as you wish. I’ll have more on individual races in a couple of follow-up posts.
(So that you may check the ads personally, I scanned in this year’s version of the Link Letter under the Fair Use Copyright Law – click here to view – 22 mb pdf)
UPDATE: 11:50 am – Stan Stanart’s eight day out report is now viewable online. There are no further payments to Mr. Lowry listed – for the relatively bargain price of $3,000, Mr. Stanart received a full page ad.
UPDATE 2: 2/25/10 @8:30 pm – Don Sumners’ report is now viewable. He paid Mr. Lowry $5,000 on 1/28/10.
UPDATE 3: 2/26/10 @6:09 am – John W. Clinton’s report is now viewable. He paid Mr. Lowry $10,000 on 1/22/10.
