A few weeks ago, I mentioned that Harris County Commissioner Jack Morman was going to get a primary challenger. But, I wasn’t certain at the time because Glorice McPherson had been seeking petition signatures at Democratic events and had run as a Democrat last year. I’m certain now because I happened to be in the Harris County Republican Party headquarters when she dropped off her petitions and officially filed:

Because McPherson decided to file via petition instead of paying a filing fee, her filing has been received but it is not  official until the signatures on her petitions are verified, which will take a few days. She has updated her website since the last time I visited and now has this information up:

I am running for Commissioner of Harris County Precinct 2. I am a dynamic business woman, who has demonstrated excellence, passion and determination in my work and ethics. I’ve spent most of my life in Harris County, but have also had the privilege of seeing and experiencing many communities in many places around the world, including  Paris, London, and India.

I have worked with many other creative entrepreneurs, including former Florida Governor Jeb Bush, U.S. Senator Hillary Clinton, U.S. Senator Barack Obama, and entertainers Diana Ross, Michael Jackson, Quincy Jones,  Debbie Allen, and Whitney Houston to name a few. As a public relationships manager, I turned my creative energy toward becoming a community organizer and advocate through marketing, promotions, and in positions of Public Relations Management.  I am the hands-on owner/operator of  “Arrow Networks”, a business involved in promotion, production, and marketing (advertising media planning, and buying) for over 30 years. Employing high levels of creativity, strong communications skills, international travel, and long hours, we offered our professional marketing assistance to both businesses and community non-profits.

I wish to bring my expertise and experience in business and community advancement to Harris County Precinct 2 for the benefit of all my constituents when I am elected to represent you.

I told her I’d be nice, so I won’t be snarky about that. I will point out that she is the first person that I have ever heard say that Barack Obama is an entrepreneur. Learn something new every day.

Good luck to Ms. McPherson, she’s going to need it.
