So you think that politicking is over now that the 2014 Primary election is over and done, eh? NOT SO FAST! Don’t forget the runoffs! And don’t forget that you have plenty of opportunities to get out and meet candidates and officeholders at the many club and group events that are still held weekly and monthly.
Speaking of which, the Cypress Texas Tea Party will be having their monthly meeting this Saturday, March 8th. Not only will you get to meet candidates and officeholders, you’ll get to me little ‘ol me. Well, little doesn’t really apply but you know what I mean! In addition, you’ll get to hear from George Scott of George Scott Reports and Bob Price. You probably recall that I was able to offload coverage of the House District 132 race to George because he lives in Katy and is very protective of his home district. George wrote a must-read recap of the HD-132 race and why he doesn’t support the outsider: Is Katy Transitioning To Just Another Cog In The Machinery Of Political Acquiescence & Predictable, Strategic Manipulation? We’ll be talking about a variety of subjects and answer any question you might have about Republican politics in Harris County.
Plus, my girl will be there and you can meet the much better and prettier half of me! Add in good barbecue and you have a recipe for fun.
So c’mon out! Yes, that means all of you stuffy C-Club and HRBC folks that like to hide behind the curtain and buy your way into politics. Come out and meet the people that actually do the work of getting your candidates elected by talking to their friends and neighbors, block walking, and manning the polls on election day. You might find it enlightening.
And you, crazy uncle, owe me lunch anyway – this would be a cheap way to pay up and meet the people that you send your slate cards to. I promise not to wink at you. Heck, even the little fella might find it enlightening.
