Full disclosure: I contributed to the Rand Paul for President campaign and bring you this campaign update on the heels of the Fox Business Debate earlier this week.
From the inbox:
“This has been an exciting week for Rand! You asked about our ground game success and what we have accomplished in the early states. Below is an overview of what you have helped Rand accomplish to secure the nomination.

· Our campaign has made a quarter-million phone calls. Jeb’s campaign reported making 70,000 phone calls in Iowa.
New Hampshire:
Our campaign has a leadership team with over 325 members, including 27 GOP Representatives and 2 State Senators – Nearly triple the size of our closest rival.

Our campaign won the three major straw polls – Michigan, New Hampshire, and CPAC because of our strong organization. Listen to Rand Paul on the Laura Ingraham radio show:
Ed Vidal says
If I ever have lasik eye surgery, I will want Dr. Rand Paul to do it, or recommend a surgeon to do it.. And he is a very good Senator from Kentucky. However,, he is not much of an advocate, not even for libertarians principles. America is at a crossroad, and we do not need a surgeon (not even Carson), but an advocate and barrister.
The most effective and reliable advocate for conservative and libertarian principles is Ted Cruz, and he deserves our support. Go to http://www.tedcrus.org..
Rand Paul should get to work on his re-election campaign for the Senate. If he loses that, then he will be even more of a fool than I thought. His acolytes should take note, including Steve Munisteri, Matt Kibbe, and my son Charlie Vidal.
Adrian Heath says
I am confused by Ted Cruz. He is a consummate insider who positions himself as anti-establishment. He is a Christian who embraced the neoconservative warmonger worldview.
Ed Vidal says
Ted is not a neo-conservative warmonger; he is a Reagan-Thatcher peacekeeper. He will keep us safe and avoid nation-building.
He looks like an insider because of his achievements, but his true sentiments are anti-establishment, in part because he is a Christian.
Adrian Heath says
This article on Liberty Conservatives make a credible argument questioning Cruz’s neocon choices for foreign policy. Mainly old Bush team people.

I would be more convinced on Cruz if he embraced and applied a Christian Worldview to defense issues as per this position paper National Defense and the Bible.
