Precinct Chair Filing Update 3

The last update was on Tuesday, the 22nd, so there isn’t a lot of “new” filings to report. Happily, there are 2 new contested races, bringing the total to 15. Not all are to replace current chairs but a good portion of them are. The others are either to fill a vacant seat or, as in my case, the current chair has not filed. Here is the complete list of contested races as of December 23rd at 4:20 pm.

There are also opportunities to be had in newly formed precincts. Effective January 1st, there will be 11 new precincts in Harris County. As of the 23rd, only 3 of these precincts had candidates. Here is the complete list of new precincts and a general idea of where they are. Click on the link to see a map.

  • Precinct 875 – Barker Cypress / West Road area.
  • Precinct 876 – Kuykendahl / Stuebner Airline area.
  • Precinct 877 – Bear Creek, Fry Rd/Clay Rd area. (Kelly Horsley has filed)
  • Precinct 878 – Eldridge Parkway / Spring Cypress area.
  • Precinct 879 – South Mayde Creek / Morton Road area.
  • Precinct 880 – Champion Forest / Stuebner Airline area.
  • Precinct 881 – Bear Creek / West Little York area. (Mike Bristow has filed)
  • Precinct 882 – Bear Creek / Barker Cypress area.
  • Precinct 883 – East Richey / IH45 / FM1960 / Hardy Toll Road area. (Orlando J. Smith, MBA has filed)
  • Precinct 884 – Hwy 249 / Bammel North Houston area.
  • Precinct 885 – West Lake Houston Parkway area.

I think that all of the precinct training sessions that Felicia Cravens held through the Houston Tea Party Society and the North Houston Tea Party Patriots have concluded. But if you contact her, I can assure you that she will help you decide if this is for you.

Now, you ask, why am I doing this? Why, as one emailer suggested, am I wasting time on Precinct Chair elections? After all, they said, no one cares and I won’t be attracting readers. Well, this is why:

Others know how to throw a party, march, hire expensive speakers to come and hawk their latest book. But Warren, Dan and Glass have shown the way to retake America in Nevada and now they are leading the charge nationwide. As easy as 1, 2, 3…

Although I pretty much detest the term RINO, I do think that for the HCRP to remain relevant, it must be changed from the bottom up. And that process starts at the Precinct Chair level.
