The illegal alien coddling, First Amendment censorship supporting Obama regime has rendered the E-Verify system unavailable during the “government shutdown”. The choice made by the lawlessness-encouraging Obama administration is to help illegal aliens and the employers who hire them.
The ever-sympathetic administration has also closed E-Verify customer support and related services.
E-Verify is the system Norman Adams and Steve Hotze asked Texas Congressman Lamar Smith to expand back in December 2011.
During a recent press conference, Stan Marek, board member of the Greater Houston Partnership and CEO of Marek Construction asked “”What is so hard about following the law?”
Will law-abiding, middle-class taxpaying Texans and businesses get answer?

Interesting that the article mentions Norm Adams and Steve Hotze as supporters of e-verify, since both of them are unabashed supporters of amnesty. Adams and his minions have presented “facts” that, contrary to Homeland Security’s data that e-verify is 97{997ab4c1e65fa660c64e6dfea23d436a73c89d6254ad3ae72f887cf583448986} accurate, indicate it’s far less than that. Adams and Hotze were the primary reasons we lost all of the immigration legislation in Austin in 2011 (those “campaign contributions” to politicians are powerful things) and of course Adams and his minions were in Austin during this last legislative session once again testifying in favor of the illegal aliens and against American citizens . Regarding e-verify being shut down, I will be surprised if it ever comes back on line given the current political climate regarding shoving another amnesty down the throats of America. But not to worry, e-verify is not mandatory, except for companies that have federal contracts. The current I-9 system that stipulates “if it looks real, it’s good enough” is just fine for the likes of Adams, Hotze, Marek and the rest of the construction, food & beverage, agriculture and hospitality slave labor/human trafficking crowd. They don’t mind circumventing the law against hiring illegals so they can put more money in their pocket.
Expanding E-Verify into the realm of the current "stand down" mode of our border patrol agents. The true agenda of the open borders exposed for all to see. Wonder if Rep. Poe is still plotting for more foreign workers during this absolute melt-down.Re: E-VERIFY- I recall Adams opposing E-Verify during the 2011 lege…back then he spoke about driving more workers underground. What has really happened is that American workers are the ones underground and completely absent on these work sites.
Great question for Poe Liz. Nothing he does surprises me. He does not care who comes in, as long as they will vote Democrat in the future, sing the Muslim call to prayer, or work for one of his " groups" like ACORN
