Of course, those aren’t the only ones they endorsed but the others you pretty much expect. Obviously Bill White was going to get the pro-abortion endorsement, along with Ellen Cohen, Hubert Vo, Jessica Farrar, and every other Democrat in a legislative race. Here’s the list:
Planned Parenthood Houston Endorsements 2010
I mean, I get the legislative endorsements, I really do. And even, to some extent, Gordon Quan for County Judge and Sylvia Garcia for County Commissioner. But these three county positions? The only thing I can think of is exactly what Planned Parenthood says about them:
Each of the endorsed candidates has demonstrated a strong commitment to the health and well being of Texas women and families.
Yikes. If abortions are Loren Jackson’s, Ann Harris Bennett’s, and Diane Trautman’s way of “demonstrating commitment” I’d HATE to see what they come up with when they don’t want to commit to something.
BTW, for all of you Republicans out there championing Mr. Jackson’s campaign, did you know that he took $2,500 from the Mostlyn law firm? You know, the trial lawyer that is putting so much money into this election spreading lies and half-truths to try to DEFEAT Republicans? The guy that tried to silence Texas Watchdog? I don’t get it.
Here’s the deal. I don’t know why an abortion group would support these local candidates. But I do know that you have a choice in each race. A strong, conservative choice that no pro-abortion group would EVER endorse for ANY position.
District Clerk: Chris Daniel
County Clerk: Stan Stanart
Tax Assessor Collector: Don Sumners
I hope you do as I do and vote for each of these Republican candidates.
UPDATE: Huh. Interesting point made by Cory Crow over at Harris County Almanac.
