Houston, TX (April 23rd, 2014)-

Ted Poe speaks to the Houston chapter of the Log Cabin Republicans

At the annual Log Cabin Republicans of Houston Annual Lincoln Day Fundraising, The Honorable Congressman Ted Poe spoke about a wide range of topics including foreign affairs, human trafficking, the Harris County Republican Party Outreach, and his support for the inclusive Republican model set forth by Ronald Reagan. His speech was met with enthusiastic applause from the crowd, a mix of club participants, precinct chairs, county judges, and city council members. This marks the third year for the event, the largest annual event for the organization, a growing political force which has seen success in electing candidates to office and growing membership over the last few years.

Log Cabin Republicans of Houston Supports Equal Rights Ordinance

Houston, TX (April 23rd, 2014)-

The Log Cabin Republicans of Houston applauds Mayor Parker’s plans to introduce the upcoming Equal Rights Ordinance. The ordinance is a significant step to promote the economic development of Houston. The great city of Houston is currently experiencing an economic highpoint, and it would be well served by protecting its workforce from incidents of discrimination. This proposal is good policy which will move Houston forward into the 21st century.

The history of the Republican Party has been one of supporting equal treatment of all people before the law, including supporting the civil rights movement for Black Americans, women suffrage, and the 1964 civil rights act. It is in this same vein that we today urge all city council members and citizens of Houston to support this important step for our city.
