Candidate Stan Stanart outlines his three priority issues:
To take the County Clerk’s Office to the next level, I will draw upon my 25 Years of Professional Experience as an Engineer and Technical Manager. In addition to standing up for Republican values and showing the public the differences between Republicans and Democrats, my top 3 priorities to focus on in the County Clerk’s Office are:
- Protecting and enhancing the integrity of our elections. The Harris County Clerk’s Office is entrusted with running county elections. Our Constitutional Republic is protected by the ballot box and ensuring the integrity, honesty and fairness of our elections will be the top priority of the County Clerk’s Office under the leadership of Stan Stanart. I will lobby the legislature to require a picture ID to be able to vote (Voter ID). I will work with other entities for joint elections. Voters should not have to go to multiple locations to vote on Election Day.
- I will be a watch dog for the taxpayer. Every dime spent by government is from the limited resources of Taxpayers. When using the taxpayers’ money government must use the money responsibly and wisely. To do otherwise is just wrong. .
- I will bring technology to the County Clerk’s office increasing efficiency and saving taxpayer dollars. Implementing electronic filing of legal documents will be a high priority with Stan Stanart as your County Clerk. The citizens of Harris County and the legal community will have quicker access and thus justice can be quickly delivered for the benefit of Harris County taxpayers and the individuals who have to deal with our courts. My experience at Compaq Computer in Presario Product Development and in the Central Test Center for the International Space Station will all be utilized to bring innovative solutions to the County Clerk’s Office.
About Stan Stanart
I know a lot about elections as Paul Bettencourt (Who has endorsed me) in 2007 recruited me to work in Voter Registration at the Tax Office before drafting me to be Associate Director of MIS. While in Voter Registration, I received training by the Texas Secretary of State Elections division on Election law. In addition, as a Republican Activist and leader, I was elected to be a member of the 2000 Electoral College. Remember the election with the hanging chads and dimples. George W. Bush needed 270 Electoral votes to win the Electoral College. I was honored to cast one of the 271 Electoral votes he received to defeat Al Gore. Good thing or we’d all be riding a horse to work.
