One hundred and thirty-seven members of the U. S. House of Representatives signed a letter asking United States Attorney General Loretta Lynch to investigate Planned Parenthood and in a Big Jolly Politics exclusive you can read the July 27, 2015 letter here and confirm your Congressman signed the letter.
First signed by Congresswoman Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee the letter emphasizes the release of the first two Planned Parenthood videos which show Planned Parenthood Federation of America leadership in conversation with individuals interested in purchasing baby body parts (“fetal body parts”).
The letter cites 42 U.S.C. 289g-2 noting “it shall be unlawful for any person to knowingly acquire, receive or otherwise transfer and human fetal tissue for valuable consideration if the transfer affects interstate commerce.” Violators may be “imprisoned for not more than 10 years.”
Referencing the PPFA website, the letter further discloses that PPFA is a tax-exempt corporation organized under section 501 ( c ) (3) with 45{997ab4c1e65fa660c64e6dfea23d436a73c89d6254ad3ae72f887cf583448986} of PPFA revenue —$540.6 million—provided by U.S. taxpayers.
Did your Congressman sign the letter?
I recognize the signatures of SOME members of the Texas delegation:
Jeb Hensarling, Lamar Smith, Pete Olson, Michael McCaul, Louie Gohmert, Bill Flores, Pete Sessions, Randy Weber
Tell us who you don’t find a signature from in the comments section.
Steven K. Howell says
It’s hard to tell, based on the “quality” of some of the signatures, but I didn’t notice John Culberson, Ted Poe or Sheila Jackson-Lee. If I missed their names, so be it. If they didn’t sign the letter, perhaps all three support the Planned Parenthood mission. Maybe.
Yvonne Larsen says
Steven–I didn’t find the signatures of at least four other Harris-Fort Bend-Montgomery County area Congressman.

Don’t see Kevin Brady?
