Everyone in my neck of the woods keeps asking: what happened to Mike Jackson? How does a sitting State Senator not make the runoff in a new district? One in which he was favored by every pundit and poll? Well, the short answer is: the Harris County strategy didn’t work. In fact, only about 34{997ab4c1e65fa660c64e6dfea23d436a73c89d6254ad3ae72f887cf583448986} of the vote total came from Harris County. If you look at the overall totals, Mike easily won Harris County but that is about it.

You have to give credit where credit is due. Takach and Stockman worked the rural areas hard and it paid off.

It is really quite simple. Saturday the talk was of 40{997ab4c1e65fa660c64e6dfea23d436a73c89d6254ad3ae72f887cf583448986} of the vote in CD36 coming out of Harris County. In the end, it was less than 34{997ab4c1e65fa660c64e6dfea23d436a73c89d6254ad3ae72f887cf583448986}. Had there been an active push to get voters out, Jackson would be going against Takach in the runoff. Instead, we have a race between Takach and a guy who is “Ron Paul Lite” — all the crazy without the handful of good ideas.

No longer enough to say “I’m an elected official, therefore vote for me”
Mike Jackson in CD 36, gone.
Elizabeth Ames Jones in Senate 25, gone.
Michael WIlliams in CD 25, gone.
