James Wilson files for Republican Nomination in House District 150
James Wilson, a local insurance agent and former Regional Director for US Senator Phil Gramm, made his campaign official today by filing for a place on the ballot for Texas State Representative in House District 150. Mr. Wilson will be seeking the Republican Party nomination.
“Unlike others, this is not a position that I seek solely for myself. Friends and neighbors have encouraged me to run so that the citizens of HD 150 have a voice in the State House. The current representation has simply not been attentive to the needs of the district. After much prayer and thoughtful consideration, I have decided to welcome this challenge.
The campaign will be based on three basic tenets – Educate, Protect and Invest. It is high time our district has a representative that focuses on the issues that are important to the families who live here. The challenges of our school’s finances, our public safety and flood control must be addressed with practical, common sense, conservative solutions. Our neighbors will have a consistent, pragmatic and effective voice in the Texas House of Representatives.
To my family of supporters, I am deeply grateful for your trust. I ask you now for your prayers and helping hands in the battle ahead. Our opposition is funded by powerful outside lobbies and special interests. Together, as neighbors, we will prevail.”

So now Big Jolly is running campaign press releases for political “gadflys”? Jolly, how can you stoop so low, just to try and help defeat a pro-life conservative like Swanson? This guy ran against Debbie Riddle in the 2012 Republican Primary and got 19% of the vote, and then against Paul Bettencourt in the 2014 Republican Primary, where he got 11% of the vote. Somebody needs to check out the “facts” in his press release. Is there a bankruptcy record out there? A foreclosure record? Even a divorce record? or worse? If so, those might be disqualifying factors, don’t you think. Of course, other than filing against prominent then-socially conservative incumbents. So, is James really that confused? Or, is there another longtime politician out there enabling him trying to keep Riddle, Bettencourt, and now Swanson from running without opposition, and thereby reducing their ability to help other socially conservative candidates? What secretive pro-choice politican might that be? Nah, couldn’t happen in Harris County, could it? or could it? Click on Jolly’s HCRP Filing story comments to learn more.
Conservative Against Career Politicians says
Wow, sounds like TexasRepublicanPatriot is scared of something 🙂
And call me crazy, but I believe James Wilson is both pro-life and very conservative. Just not a career politician…

What I find profound is that this guy doesn’t give up for what he believes in. Kinda reminds me of Lincoln. Quite admiral matter of factly.
And seriously, “TexasRepublicanPatriot”. If you don’t know how to utilize the internet to find such documents, you’re evidently the incumbent’s wannabe troll. Grow up and stop acting like a tool. It’s not like the lieutenant governor hasn’t filed twice for bankruptcy or no one has ever gotten divorced. Goodness. There are things that lack applicability to ten, maybe even five years ago now.
Also. Rep. Swanson should probably act as her title entails. As a constituent, the majority expects her to vote on their behalf. So please explain to me what the term representative means if it’s other than “represents others”. From what I gather during this past session is that she only cares about what she’s been through based off what she has written and not passed. It’s very clear that she’s got her agenda and this “power” she just can’t let go of. The people of House District 150 need to be spoken for by a representative that actually cares about them.
Honestly, Wilson sounds like a better way to go since she’s already had a chance. At this point there’s not much else to lose.
One point of advice though, if you are that passionate about something maybe you should try to make a real difference by being positive and encouraging people to vote for your selected. People actually are receptive to that, you know.
Meanwhile, I’m voting Wilson. When you hit rock bottom, there isn’t anyway but up.
