So hte Texas Democrats are going to turn to another Latino with a milatary background in their quest to win statewide, are they? Shades of Rick Noriega, no? Well, except that I doubt Lt. Col.. Noriega ever pushed his troops to torture prisoners.
According to the ACLU, documents show Army Lieutenant General Ricardo Sanchez, the former top US military commander in Iraq, urged his troops to "go to the outer limits" to extract information from prisoners. Previously released documents have linked Sanchez to the use of Army dogs during interrogations.
I'll skip right over the whole universe of hypocrisy that Dems are guilty of in pursuing this guy. I'd rather take a look at what the Lt. Gen. says:
Sanchez, a Rio Grande City, Texas, native, said that he was shaped by his upbringing.
"It's my views and my history, having grown up in south Texas, depending on social programs and assistance, that America has a responsibility to its people," he said.
Good grief. Because he benefited from redistribution of wealth, "America has a responsbiilty" to redistribute more wealth? Seriously? Sorta reminds me of President John F. Kennedy's famous speech in which he said:
And so my fellow Americans, ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.
Well, okay, so it reminds me of the opposite of what JFK said. Are you kidding me? This is exactly what the welfare state has brought us and in case you don't already know, it isn't a good thing.
This guy is the best that Texas Dems can come up with? Sheesh, maybe they really should draft Tommy Lee Jones – Kinky likes the idea.
Eric Dick says
Ted Cruz would eat this poor guy up.

I don’t know much about him but I’d bet a cold cerveza that the same folks who would vote for Oliver North think this guy is not qualified to be Senator….
