Okay boys and girls, set your DVR’s for tomorrow’s Newsmakers with Khambrel Marshall. Khambrel has a dynamite show on tap, including a segment with Jolly and Rice U.’s Dr. Mark Jones. But wait! There’s more!
That’s right, the CongresswoMANN will be talking Homeland Security and Immigration with Khambrel and Baker Institute Scholar for Immigration and Border Studies Dr. Tony Payan.
Dr. Jones and I will be talking Texas politics. Will we disagree about Sen. Dan Patrick’s chance to be Lt. Gov.? What about Voter ID – where does it stand now that the U.S. Supreme Court has released its ruling on the Voting Rights Act. And of course, the topic of the moment – special sessions, abortion, and St. Sen. Wendy Davis.
It’s always fun to meet up with Dr. Jones. He’s not some pointy headed academic that is afraid to speak his mind or speak only in cliches. He does a lot of “Guest Columns” for the Texas Tribune – click here to see them. And I was very impressed with Dr. Payan – he comes to the Baker Institute via UTEP and has first hand knowledge of the problems that building fences on the border with Mexico will create for commerce.
And what can I say about the CongresswoMANN! She’s always gracious and let’s face it – wouldn’t conservatives like to have representatives that stick to their guns the way she does for her constituents?
Tune in tomorrow, Sunday, July 7 on KPRC, channel 2 (Comcast 612) at 10:00 am after Meet the Press. The archives will be posted on Click2Houston after the show.
