The Republican Party of Texas has a deep bench of young conservative leaders. Konni Burton is running for Sen. Wendy Davis’ Senate District 10 seat in the Ft. Worth/Arlington area. Video and bio courtesy of Red State Women.
“The people don’t have a voice anymore and that is something I want to change in Austin” Konni said. “I am a Red State Woman because I believe in the principles of fiscal responsibility, personal responsibility, the rule of law, free markets and constitutionally limited government.”
Konni is a proud wife, mother, entrepreneur and civic leader. As an adoptive parent and advocate Konni has spent much of her time volunteering at The Gladney Center for Adoption in Ft Worth. Konni volunteered her time and energy to the Center and held leadership positions on the Auxiliary Board. After their first daughter was placed in their arms, Konni decided to become a full time mother. Konni and her husband Phil adopted their second daughter four and a half years later, also a “Gladney Baby.”
“Konni is an inspiration to women statewide, she took the leap and devoted her time and energy to run for this extremely important Senate seat,” said RSW Director Cari Christman. “It will be a double win this November when we have another strong Republican woman elected to the Senate replacing Wendy Davis’ former seat.”

I’ll be introducing you to a few more of these young conservative leaders in the future.
