Lest you think I exaggerate when I say that Texans for Life is one of the most respected pro-life organizations in Texas, I turn to Gov. Rick Perry, who had this to say about Ms. Wright and Texans for Life a mere eight weeks ago:
Bottom line? We’re in a life and death struggle that requires warriors. In my book, Kyleen Wright is among the toughest. Following her leadership, Texans for Life Coalition has consistently shared the truth about the value of human life and conveyed a simple message of love and understanding to young women in trouble. I’m proud to have partnered with you over the years to strengthen the culture of life in our state.
Watch for yourself:
Is there no shame among those seeking power? It doesn’t look like it to me. And I don’t think we have seen the lowest just yet. Here is another quote from the email:
The meeting was focused and many points were made with the Reps. We advised them that there is a backlash coming because this issue gets hotter and hotter and it will not go away—even after the vote is over.
Bottom line is that no matter how successful this session is under Speaker Straus, these people will still be berating our representatives simply because their favored candidate didn’t win and no one else passes their purity test.
As for Rep. Ken Paxton, the honorable thing to do would be to publicly apologize to Kyleen Wright and the entire staff of Texans for Life for the actions of his supporters.
