LARRY TAYLOR BANKROLLED BY IMMIGRATION REFORM OPPONENT
– Construction Boss Who Killed the Conservative “Sanctuary Cities” Bill Is Largest Donor to Taylor Campaign-

HOUSTON, TEXAS (May 2, 2012) – Construction Boss Bob Perry, who many credit with killing the “Sanctuary Cities” bill favored by grassroots conservatives across Texas during the last legislative session, is the largest donor to State Representative Larry Taylor’s State Senate campaign according to recently filed campaign finance reports. These disclosures indicate that Perry and his wife together contributed $70,000 to Taylor’s campaign.
Mark McCaig, President of Conservative Voters of Texas, stated “Although the passage of the “Sanctuary Cities” bill was a top priority for Texas conservatives, it died on Larry Taylor’s watch as Chairman of the House Republican Caucus. Bob Perry’s massive donations to Larry Taylor are yet more evidence that Rep. Taylor is out of touch with Texas conservatives and will not represent their views in the Texas Senate.” Conservative Voters of Texas recently began a campaign to educate voters in Senate District 11 about Rep. Taylor’s support of in-state tuition for illegal aliens. The ad can be viewed online at www.whylarrywhy.com .
Bob Perry’s opposition to the “Sanctuary Cities” bill is well documented. The Houston Chronicle reported on June 25, 2011 that Perry had hired a lobbying firm to help kill the legislation.[1] It has also been reported that Bob Perry personally lobbied against the “Sanctuary Cities” legislation.[2]
McCaig added “Voters are sick and tired of politicians like Larry Taylor that do the dirty work for special interests and wealthy donors like Bob Perry. Senate District 11 deserves a State Senator that will fight for conservative principles and not give in to pressure from powerful lobbyists.”

Thus far Taylor has responded by attacking the President of CVT, Mark McCaig. Maybe this time he’ll tell voters why he supports illegal immigration or why he doesn’t.
