JConcepcion@hctx.netMike Sullivan Expands Property Tax Workshops Tax Assessor-Collector Mike Sullivan, in partnership with the Harris County Appraisal District (HCAD) and Harris County Commissioners, is proud to announce an expansion of the Property Tax Workshop series.“After launching our Property Tax Workshops with HCAD and the Harris County Commissioners, my office received very positive feedback,” said Tax Assessor-Collector Mike Sullivan. “I’m excited to announce that we are expanding the series and adding additional dates, just in time for the June 2nd protest deadline. I want taxpayers to have as many opportunities as possible to attend our workshops and be prepared so they can protest their appraisals.”
The Property Tax Workshops are open to the public and will discuss how to protest property appraisals, learn what exemptions are available and how to obtain a payment agreement for delinquent tax bills. Below is a list of the upcoming workshops.

The Harris County Tax Assessor-Collector’s Office Property Tax Division maintains approximately 1.5 million tax accounts and collects property taxes for 71 taxing entities in Harris County. For the 2013 tax year, the Tax Assessor-Collector’s Office expects to collect more than $5 billion in property tax payments.

It is great to see Mike getting more involved in the property appraisal problems we have in Harris County. Since he is on the board of HCAD, I hope that he will push for changes in the way that office goes about its business.
