During the George Floyd memorial service in Minneapolis, Al Sharpton called for 8 minutes 46 second of silence, the amount of time the cop who murdered Floyd kept his knee on the neck of the career criminal. Sharpton also called for the broadcast networks to go silent for that amount of time. And at the beginning of Floyd’s funeral in Houston, the New York Stock Exchange went silent for 8 minutes 46 seconds.
The whole nation has been conned into believing that whenever blacks are killed by cops, they are killed only because they are black.
The murder of Floyd was unforgivable, but there is no evidence whatsoever that the Minneapolis cop who killed him was a racist. A bad cop yes, but not a racist.
Did George Floyd deserve all the attention he has been getting? Sharpton called him an “ordinary brother” during the funeral. And during the visitation ceremony, Philonise Floyd said his brother was a huge role model for a lot of people.
An ordinary brother? A huge role model? God forbid! George Floyd was a career criminal with a long rap sheet. He was twice convicted of armed robbery and served time in prison. He was murdered while being arrested for trying to pass a counterfeit $20 bill. And an autopsy showed that at the time of his death, he had fentanyl and meth in his system.
While I abhor the police-hating Black Lives Matter movement, I most certainly agree that black lives do matter. But so do all lives, including the lives of the police!
Yes, cops do shoot people, most of the shootings being justified, some not. And yes, there are some racist cops. But we are talking about only a handful of the 800,000 law enforcement officers in this country who experience 375 million annual encounters with citizens while protecting and serving the people, be they white, black, Latino, or Asian.
In 2019 police officers shot dead 1,004 people, most of whom were armed or otherwise dangerous. Of that number, only 235 were black. In other words, about a quarter of those killed by the police were black. While blacks constitute only 13 percent of the population, the killing at double that rate is easily explained by the fact that blacks commit a disproportionate amount of of crime.
The Black Lives Matter movement is only concerned about the occasional killing of black men by white cops. BLM has kept silent about the daily killings of black men by black men in Baltimore, Chicago, Los Angeles and other cities. It is bad enough that politicians support BLM, but it is absolutely revolting to see police officials supporting a group that thrives on spreading hatred of the very cops they lead.
In stead of taking 8 minutes 46 seconds of silence for a career criminal, we ought to take 10 minutes of silence in memory of all the police officers that have been murdered by blacks and the countless white people murdered by black criminals.
Not sure why you continue on your racist tirade, but more police are killed by white offenders than by black offenders.

If we lived our world based on personal experience, I guess I should hate Jewish police officers. My former wife, we were divorced, was shot in the back by, if I remember correctly a Jewish police officer (Her live in boy friend). Should I hate Jewish police officers? Are all Jewish police officers back shooters?

The fact of the matter is that nobody gets any political power when 18 Blacks are murdered mostly by other Blacks in Chicago in one day. Nobody gets any political power when a White criminal is shot to death by a cop. Nobody gets any political power when a Black criminal is shot to death by a Black cop. Significant political power accrues when a Black is shot to death by a White cop, no matter what the circumstances. How many still believe that HANDS UP DON’T SHOOT really happened that way in Ferguson? How many more people don’t give a shit if it’s true or not, because they get power when people believe it’s true. The dead guy at the Wendy’s in Atlanta did not deserve to die and the cop that shot him likely committed a criminal act when he did so. That being said all he had to do was submit to a LAWFUL ARREST and he would still be alive and at home, getting drunk and allowing his friends and family to bask in the glory of his wonderfulness. Instead he is doing the dirt dance because he was drunk and stupid in public and crossed paths with a cop who apparently screwed up big time, with tragic consequences. Drunk and stupid should not equal dead, but sometimes it does.

And Many, you are right when you say “more police are killed by white offenders than by black offenders.” But that is rather disingenuous! 33 percent of police officers killed are killed by blacks. That’s at a rate of almost three times the 13 percent of blacks in our population.
If you want to know the truth about the racial divide in this country, Trump is not responsible for it. Your beloved Barack Obama is largely responsible for the division in this country because of his eight years of identity politics.

I agree with you about Obama being the proximate cause of our current racial strife. Shit, most Americans just want racial division and strife to be over, to end, and it seemed to be, but we’ve got an election, and stirring up racial animosity and getting Dem. constituencies on the plantation riled up and ready to vote is just part of the Marxist playbook. Isn’t it funny that BLM made a big splash just in time for the 2016 election, then really not much, until they were needed for the current election, and voila….rioting in the streets.
That’s going to backfire, I hope. Most people just want to live their lives, to get along, to NOT commit crimes and fight with the police. I certainly hope that majority understands where all the violence and strife is coming from….the DNC. And you’d think most people would identify with the victims of people like George Floyd and Michael Brown, vs. seeing them as heros to be revered and honored.
