Houston Community College System's Official Newspaper Attacks King Street Patriots

This is with your money, folks. In buildings you are paying for. Written by a student/staff member paid $9/hr (worth every penny, I’m sure).

Read the article here. It isn’t online – look at the website for the paper and you will understand both why it isn’t online and why the “reporting” is so very poor. If this is an example of the type of education students are receiving at the various HCCS campuses, we need to shut them down yesterday.

Here is a few samples of HCCS style “journalism”:

I could go on, but you get the point. If this is indicative of the HCCS as a whole, what a waste of taxpayer money. Goodness.

You know how to change crap like this? Contact the board of trustees and tell them you are not going to settle for such poor results from their “educational” institution. If you aren’t happy with the reply they give you, replace them. Only they can fix a system this broken and if they won’t do it, find someone who will. Here is the current list of trustees:

At least one of them, Yolanda Navarro Flores, is already under investigation for “possibly improper business deals” according to Ericka Mellon of the Houston Chronicle.

If you think the fight is only against the leviathan in Washington D.C., you are very much mistaken. We need to take back EVERY elected position and put someone in place that will spend taxpayer money wisely and DEMAND high quality results from those that live off of the taxpayers.

Obviously, the English and Journalism teachers (I hesitate to call them professors) at the HCCS aren’t getting the job done.
