This Thursday’s meeting of the Downtown Houston Pachyderm Club promises to be the highlight meeting of the year for the club. President Sophia Mafrige managed to get Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott to be the featured speaker for the annual Christmas lunch:
Not only will you get to hear from Texas’ next governor, you will get an opportunity to help underprivileged children by bringing a toy to be donated to Toys for Tots. I’m betting that attendance for this meeting will top the current high for the year of 120 when David Dewhurst visited the club. If everyone that attends brings a toy, 150 or so kids will have a brighter Christmas.
The meeting starts at 12 o’clock sharp on Thursday, 12-5! I’d advise you getting there early for this one if you want a seat. The club meets upstairs at the Spaghetti Warehouse, located at 901 Commerce St in downtown Houston. It is easy to get to, has plenty of cheap parking, and the meals are only $8 including drink. Can’t beat that!
