Just in from Jared Woodfill, he was successful in his pursuit of a restraining order preventing the City of Houston from offering same sex benefits to its employees. Here is the order:
Whatever you think about the issue, Jared Woodfill is a fighter for what he believes in.
He will do well as the next state GOP party chairman.

‘He will do well as the next state GOP party chairman.’—goodness, I hope not!!!

I’d rather see you as the next state GOP party chairman. But what do I know? I’m just a Colorado cat.

LOL, Mr. Khat, if you can guarantee that you’ll raise at least $500k for that race, I’ll run! Otherwise, Jared is the best choice amongst those announced thus far. Think about that’

The timing of this order, the day after the election, seems to be a conscious action of the court to avoid inflaming voters who might have cared about this issue, whether for or against.

Question: What is the major angst against Mr. Woodfill other than he lost an election. As a RPT delegate I keep hearing about Woodfill and the Harris County, Fort Bend crowd seems to have soured on him.
Seems like this guy is working hard in spite of his ouster… Havent seen anyone else stepping up to the plate against a known Liberal trying to wreck the Constitution…
Just asking..

I will be supporting one of the other candidates in the race to be RPT Chair. Jared is an effective voice for many things, but I believe he would be a divisive influence as a state chair. Jared has shown deficiencies in reaching out to new constituencies and non-traditional Republicans. There are a number of conservative interest groups who could put his skills to better use.
