Statement on behalf of the Frank Mazzapica for Congress Campaign.
The campaign finds the recent statements made by the Eric Story campaign troubling. On his website http://www.facebook.com/l/
9192f;anamericastory.org he stated: “Unlike his primary opponent, Eric has been involved in conservative politics for a number of years. Eric has never worked with candidates from other parties to unseat proven conservative leadership, like his primary opponent does.”
We find this to be misleading and false. Though it is true, Mr. Story has been involved with HCRP politics for quite some time, he has not been involved with personal political victory at any point in his life. In 2006, the people overwhelmingly voted against Mr. Story by a margin of 73% of the vote and only raising $28,000. In 2008, the numbers got worse; the district voted against Mr. Story by a margin of 75% and only raised $14,000. It is clear that Mr. Story is out of touch with voters and the people of District 29.
Mr. Story is also misleading people about Frank Mazzapica working with candidates from other parties. Frank Mazzapica has never worked with candidates from other parties and has a proven history of supporting candidates that agree with his principals. What is interesting is that, Story and Republican Candidate for District 18, John Faulk recently teamed up for a healthcare forum in Downtown Houston. The irony here is that John Faulk is openly against current HCRP Chairman Jared Woodfill and supporting Ed Hubbard. Mr. Story is a Woodfill disciple but seems to forgo that piece of information.
Mr. Story is also misleading people about his experience. Mr. Story states in website that he is a freedom rider and he rides in honor of our military veterans. Unlike Eric Story, Frank Mazzapica is a ten-year Air Force Veteran and we want to thank Mr. Story for riding in our honor. Mr. Story has no real executive experience in comparison to Frank Mazzapica. Mr. Story has never been a small business owner like Frank Mazzapica. Mr. Story has never managed a multi-million dollar budget like Frank Mazzapica has been doing for the past decade. Mr. Story has no real experience creating jobs like Frank Mazzapica has. He has no military experience, and Frank Mazzapica is a ten-year veteran. Frank Mazzapica Founded High Point High School and hired teachers, counselors, principals, security and other positions. Currently High Point High School is expanding. Mr. Story has no experience in this field.
To sum it up, Mr. Story has a history of losing elections because he has no experience to bring to Washington DC. He has an ability to relate with members of HCRP and not with the citizens of District 29. We the recent vote of Cap and Trade, the people of District 29 will be looking for someone to replace Gene Green with someone with experience in creating jobs, not taking false jabs at a primary political opponent. Our campaign is directed toward the people of District 29, bringing jobs and a safehaven from politics as usual from the Beltway. We are here to serve the people of District 29 and bring their thoughts and worries to DC and not our own. We want to represent the people of District 29 and Mr. Story wants to represent his own.
Sincerely,
Nathan Mazzapica
