And it has been from the beginning. This is the latest from the Carly Fiorina campaign about ABC’s decision to exclude her from tonight’s Republican debate.
And the Republican National Committee is part of the game, as evidenced by their silence. Reince Priebus talks a good game about inclusion but fails to follow through with action when he can.
There is no rational excuse to exclude her given the results of the Iowa caucus. I suppose it boils down to not letting the little lady take down the men on the stage.
Goodness, wouldn’t it be fun to see her take on Hillary over the $153 million that Hillary and Bill have raked in from private speeches? Wouldn’t it be fun to hear Carly challenge Hillary to release the transcripts of her speeches to Wall Street banks?
Hillary is not going to win the election in November. But the Republicans may well lose it.
Reince Priebus is a tool. So are most of the establishment Republicans in Washington. It’s not really a surprise.
David, in total agreement on this one.
ABC announced their criteria on January 27 (before Huckabee, Santorum or Paul withdrew). To be invited to their party, you had to finish in the top 3 in Iowa, in the top 6 in NH polls or the top 6 in National polls.
Putting it simply, you have to draw the line somewhere. Otherwise, they would have to include all 26 people who paid the $1000 to be on the ballot.
Could they have drawn the line differently? Absolutely.
Should they have?
That is a question only they can answer.
There have been numerous debates this year with more than the 7 that were on stage Saturday.
But if they change the rules to let Carly on the stage, how do they justify keeping Jim Gilmore off?
I imagine one or two candidates will drop out after the results on Tuesday.
So future debates will probably include Carly, if she sticks it out.
Right now, she’s in 4th in the delegate count, 8 behind the clear front-runner and presumptive nominee Ted Cruz. She can quickly make that up in South Carolina and on Super Tuesday.
I’m Tom Zakes and I approve this message.
No sense trying to suggest that there is some huge conspiracy to discriminate against women……..in this case, Fiorina will be dropping out soon and in my opinion they could have eliminated some of the others and it wouldn’t have hurt my feelings or significantly affected the debate or primary outcomes.
Didn’t suggest anything of the sort. And Fiorina just announced she’s dropping out.
Thing is, it might not bother you that she was excluded. But for people that don’t participate much in politics, they look at stuff like that and it reinforces their decision that they can’t make a difference. In my opinion, of course.
I agree but Carly is not exactly the maidenhead you want on the ship of state
