Hey, Republicans, you might want to attend this meeting tomorrow night and find out a lot of truth about Republicans Against Marijuana Prohibition and marijuana instead of continuing to vote out of fear.
What do you ask the person who knows everything about marijuana?
Really….I’m asking you. You are invited to meet that man: Richard Lee.
Richard is the son of Ann and Bob Lee, inspiration of RAMP, marijuana activist since the early 1990’s, founder of the first hemp clothing store in Houston, co-founder of Houston NORML, founder of Oaksterdam University, chief supporter of Prop 19 to legalize marijuana in California, and all around incredibly modest guy. I mean, there’s even more to list! Richard ran a medical marijuana dispensary and had his house and businesses raided by Obama’s DEA.
Come visit us on Thursday, June 25 at 7:00pm to hear about Richard’s life and Oaksterdam University. What is Oaksterdam? The “Princeton of Pot.” Check out the video to learn more: https://www.youtube.com/
watch?v=SQ-uuy4fhm0 This venue has free valet parking and also self-park available. Invite your friends! Learn about the upcoming marijuana news in Texas and how to get involved in the grassroots.
The meeting will be at Paul’s Kitchen, 2502 Algerian Way, Houston. Click here for a map. Starts at 7:00 pm and runs a couple of hours.
So come on out and LEARN something for once. K?

David, just what we need a doped up country. As far as your patronizing little comment “come on out and LEARN something for once K?”, I wasn’t aware you’d been crowned king of all knowledge. I think that most people who went through the 60’s know a little bit (or a lot) about pot. I have absolutely no problem with the medical marijuana that Gov. Abbott just signed, as far as recreational use, absolutely not. Since you’re the crown prince of all knowledge, I’m sure you know about the increased traffic accidents (28{997ab4c1e65fa660c64e6dfea23d436a73c89d6254ad3ae72f887cf583448986} increase the day the law went into effect), increase in crimes and the dramatic increase in ER visits, primarily because little kids have gotten their hands on mommy or daddy’s stash and the increase in visits to the animal ER because fido has gotten into the stash in Colorado since they passed their recreational marijuana laws.

Could you please point me to the source of your 28{997ab4c1e65fa660c64e6dfea23d436a73c89d6254ad3ae72f887cf583448986} increase in traffic accident statement?
It’s not consistent with what I’ve be seeing about fatalities, and it doesn’t take into account that cannabis possession had been legal for a year before retail sales began, and that numbers of cannabis consumers did not rise sharply following legalization of possession or legalization of sales.
Thanks.
Since marijuana legalization, highway fatalities in Colorado are at near-historic lows

Janet,
The goal is to decriminalize marijuana so the legal process does not destroy lives. Saddling our youth with criminal records for smoking pot is a huge waste of time, not only for our police officers, but our court system as well. When I grew up many transgressions were erased with time and money. It is very generational because nothing is erased in today’s world. Respectfully, I want our police chasing criminals we are frightened of, not those we are mad at, and in my old age I have learned we can’t have both.
You want to meet a great group of kids who I see as the future of the Republican Party, go to a RAMP meeting. I am sure there is a dope smoker in the group but I haven’t seen it. I see a caring group of folks trying to make a difference in the drug war who wish to see an enlightened approach to addiction. Please take time to read this article I wrote awhile back. https://bigjolly.com/ramp-goes-austin/
Sincerely,
Don Hooper

Colorado Cuts Marijuana Tax, Targets Black Market.
Yes, I’m biased, but I see very clear signs that Colorado voters chose wisely when they went to the polls to end cannabis prohibition. in 2013.

Really? A doped up country? Gimme a break lady. We are already an ALCOHOLIC country and IMHO THAT is the problem.
Let’s drink drive and kill someone! I’ve had family members killed by alcoholics.
Never ran into someone who couldn’t “maintain” on Mary J. And certainly don’t know of anyone who was killed because of it.
Pot isn’t a drug. It’s a HERB. Quit letting the government control your thoughts….sheeple.
PS: Watch out! I’m a conservative tea party rebel flag harley davidson riding woman. 🙂

DUI for any reason is a crime and driving while “maintaining” is no more excusable than driving with a 0.08 alcohol buzz.
I would use marijuana today as tea to relieve the pain in my bones. The long term side effects are a lot less scary than a diet of Vicodin, but the responsible thing is to lock the car keys away just like I do when I decide to take a sip of my favorite Celtic beverage.
FWIW….I have a position of drunk drivers that scares even Ms Simple. The same applies to stoned drivers.

Whether it’s cannabis, alcohol, or texting, distracted driving or operating a deadly weapon under the influence of anything is dangerous to oneself and to others. I’ve always admired your levelheaded thinking, Simple Simon. It’s good to see your input again.
