Born and raised in a strict, conservative Catholic home, I am the only daughter of a blue collar service advisor and a bilingual elementary school teacher. My parents raised me to do my best at every task I took on, and this work ethic has remained with me to this day. I am married with 2 young daughters.
After graduating from law school, my goal for my legal career was to help people, but I was not quite sure how I could accomplish that. At first, I did real estate transaction work with another attorney, but when the market took a downturn in late 2007, I searched other areas of law to find my niche. I began working as an ad litem attorney in the probate courts of Harris County and took some CLE to be qualified to handle criminal defense cases. After my first handful of appointments out of Galveston County, I knew I had found my calling: to defend accused citizens. I gained more experience by sitting second chair with well-respected, more seasoned lawyers, hoping to learn as much as I could. The more experience I gained, the more places I could work as a court-appointed lawyer, so I accepted appointments in Montgomery and then Fort Bend County and eventually Harris County. In 2014, I was admitted to the Criminal Justice Act (CJA) panel to represent defendants charged with federal offenses.
I am helping people every day, advising and counseling defendants on the options for their cases, in both English and Spanish. I now wish to be a judge to bring my wide range of experience to the Harris County Courthouse and run an efficient court where attorneys are glad to practice and citizens know that a judge sits on the bench who will listen, follow the rule of law as written, and be fair.

I am a solo practitioner focused on criminal defense work. I currently am attorney of the day in a Harris County misdemeanor court, representing indigent defendants charged with Class A or B misdemeanors. I am also representing a couple of defendants charged with federal crimes through my authorization and approval as a Criminal Justice Act panel attorney.
