We met John and we spoke with John. We searched You Tube for John Faulk videos; found him on Facebook. We met John’s campaign staff and attended events where John would be speaking. We signed up for John Faulk emails through his website and found the Big Jolly blog where we could read more about the Harris County GOP and the election process. We educated ourselves. We hosted an event at our house so the neighbors could meet John.
I support John Faulk because he is a Constitutional Conservative. He knows the rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness in the Declaration of Independence are known as “negative rights”; these natural rights live in perpetuity, are ageless and hence can never be taken away from us. These rights of natural law are rooted in our Judeo-Christian heritage and serve as the basis for the Bill of Rights; the name by which the first ten amendments to the Constitution are known. John served our country admirably in the US Navy and supports a strong national defense. John supports policies that create the conditions for an expansion of Houston’s private sector economy and return to economic prosperity. John deplores the use of eminent domain to seize private property; how many more businesses will be destroyed and how many families will be displaced as a result of this assault on private property? What words come to mind when you hear “Metro Light Rail”?
One of my neighbors described himself as an “independent, because he didn’t want to be labeled a Republican or a Democrat”. To the over 200,000 independents in CD-18 I ask how you will remain independent when the leviathan that is Big Government won’t allow you to remain independent. Over 16,000 new IRS agents will be hired to monitor your compliance with the individual mandate of Demcare; they won’t allow you to operate in the medical system independently. All chain restaurants with over 50 locations are not allowed to publish menus without calorie counts and other nutritional information. Banks that used to participate in the Federal Student Loan program are no longer allowed to do so.
There is not a moderate Democrat running for Congress in CD-18 to vote for on November 2nd. The Independents in CD-18 have to take a stand. Vote for John Faulk. He is Standing Up for Houston.
