Wendy Davis thinks Texas ranchers are stooopid

Wendy DavisAfter rising to fame on the mutilated body parts of 6 month old unborn human beings, Texas State Sen. Wendy Davis refuses to talk about abortion. It seems that the polls show that the vast majority of Texas voters don’t cotton to late term abortions.

A lesser known element of Wendy Davis’ policy preferences is her disdain for Texas ranchers. This headline in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram’s Poli-Tex blog caught my eye: Wendy Davis talks about the role of farmers and ranchers in Texas. So I clicked over expecting to read about her disdain for them. Instead, I get this:

“For people who work hard every day to make an honest living, including our farmers and ranchers, we have to make sure that government is smarter, and that it’s working for you, not against you,” Davis said. “Texas is the greatest state in this country, capable of leading the nation in medical and research science, in technology, in oil and gas production, in education and in agriculture.

“Politicians in Austin didn’t build our state up to what it is today,” she said. “That role falls to the hardworking Texans I meet every day.”

The girl has some cojones. Too bad she didn’t mention to those hard working ranchers that she was one of only two votes against a bill passed by the Texas legislature in 2011 that increased penalties against people that stole their livestock. The bill was SB1163, you can read it yourself. Not a single witness testified against that bill during committee hearings. It was a bill designed specifically to help hardworking Texans. Yet if you look at the Senate Journal, you’ll see that Sen. Wendy Davis voted against it on all three readings.

But hey, ranchers are too stooopid to notice her hypocrisy, right?

Uh, no, they aren’t.

What we are witnessing is a far left liberal candidate that is completely out of touch with Texas voters trying to morph into something she isn’t. But Texans aren’t going to be fooled, no matter how hard and often the lazy Texas media tries to fool us.
