Mr. Lowry played his prerecorded interviews with Mr. Roberston on Tuesday, 1/5 and Thursday, 1/7. Each “interview” consists of two segments, ranging from 9 to 14 minutes each. Most of the “interview” is Mr. Lowry talking, of course, because he buys the time, but Mr. Robertson does get a few minutes of publicity. Here are the links to the four segments:
Did Terry Lowry not take the time to find this picture taken when the Houston Tea Party Society had him removed from their protest? He’s a racist and he can’t spell. Way to promote this guy, Mr. Lowry. If Mr. Lowry had taken the time to do any background research, he could not have missed the Houston Tea Party Society’s missive on Mr. Roberston. You should read it; here is an excerpt:
A pattern begins to emerge, one of a man bent on either controlling the names available for current movements in Harris County, or on extorting money from the leaders of these grassroots movements. Apparently we irritated him when we registered the name Houston Tea Party SOCIETY, because he didn’t think to get that one. I hear he is offering to sell the rights to the names to leaders of these movements.
So, purportedly a self-described member of a movement that’s against sleazy opportunistic politicians is presenting himself as a sleazy opportunistic non-politician?
Personally, I think that’s a great capitalist idea, and I wish him luck with that.
However, the threats of lawsuits and so forth do NOT sit well with me. The lawyers affiliated with the Houston Tea Party Society are more than ready to take on challenges such as this, should the need arise. We’ll continue as we have been, working hard to coordinate events and give people an opportunity to have their voices heard. We just want to make it clear that there are some people who, perhaps, are in the business of something else when using a Tea Party name.
Probably the most outrageous claim is that Mr. Robertson has 6 million people in his coalition. Truth is that Mr. Roberson has nothing of the sort. Visit his website and you will see for yourself: this is a self-promotion website. He does have a link up for you to send a fax to all of congress with a simple click – eh, not quite. First, you have to pay $55. Then you can contact congress. Interestingly, the address listed on the form is the same address as one listed on the donations page for GI America.org, an organization that claims to support the troops. On that page, you can give them some money to keep the lights on. Ridiculous but true. Self-promotion at its finest.
And the Harris County Republican Party at its worst. Well…not quite.
Mr. Lowry manages to go one better. Actually two, but I’m working on the second one for a different post. Near the end of his fourth segment with Mr. Robertson, Mr. Lowry decides it is time to tear down County Judge Ed Emmett. Take a listen, I clipped this one out for you.
How’s that for boosting the party? Ed Emmett is probably the best weapon the party has right now and the Voter Registration Chair decides he needs to be taken down a notch. And people complain that I say bad things about Republicans? Unreal.
But expected. The leadership on Richmond Ave. is inept, at best. They simply do not have a clue. Why on earth would they offend all of the active Tea Parties like this? Take a look at a couple of the comments from local activists from a Facebook entry I made about it:
Tracy Metcalf Miller: Dale Robertson????? Isn’t he an oportunist snake? No use for him. Is Jared that clueless? The answer is “YES”! All I’ve heard from people associated with the party is what a pantywaste he is but he is STILL there. Explain that. I’ve noticed a little clan of Jared followers. Only at one point one of those lapdogs was ready to bite his hand off. As someone who prefers to work from without instead of within, it’s pretty interesting to watch. The party is imploading on itself.
Suzanne Guggenheim It’s amazing how some people use all their talents for all the wrong things! Obviously no one knows of a single person or group who has ever worked with him. there is not a single event since February 27, 2009, that he can claim, and have a witness, to having organized!
These are natural Republican voters but as I’ve said many times, they are not mind-numbed robots that are going to vote for Republicans just because. Republicans are going to have to earn their votes. It is inexcusable that the Voter Registration Chair did not spend enough time researching Tea Parties over the last year to understand that Dale Robertson is not the founder or even an activist in that movement. Inexcusable. Almost like Chairman Jared Woodfill touting programs that do not exist.
Fortunately, there is an election coming up. Voters can make a change, if they get informed and vote. There are 10 candidate forums listed on the calendar and they cover a lot of the Harris County geographical area. Hopefully, someone will set one or two up for the Northeast side of the county. Pick a forum, attend it, and learn about the candidates. Then vote for change. Please.
