In the race for Harris County Judge, it is incumbent Lina Hidalgo versus challenger Alexandra del Moral Mealer. Or is it?
Judge Hidalgo trotted out a dinosaur from the ’60’s to help with her faltering campaign:
Interesting choice for Judge Hidalgo. This is the enduring photo of Hanoi Jane that I remember:
How many American boys lost their lives because of traitor Jane? Sickening that the Harris County Judge brought her into our county to cheer for her now. But perhaps appropriate?
Meanwhile, Alexandra Mealer has a local guy championing her cause.
Which one has done more for Harris County? Mattress Mack or Hanoi Jane?
The latest horse race poll has the candidates in a statistical dead heat, a long way from where Alexandra Mealer started.
“As early voting gets underway, the new University of Houston – Hobby School of Public Affairs poll is solid confirmation that residents want new leadership in Harris County. It’s unprecedented that after starting as an unknown, in just seven months of general election campaigning, Lina and I are in a dead heat. And the two reasons I chose to enter this race, crime and government corruption, are the top two issues for the vast majority of voters in our county. To those who are skeptical about my ability to execute my campaign promises, I would just say that if you think I am moving fast on the campaign trail, imagine how fast I can run once in office with a full team behind me.
This race is intensely personal to me – Houston is where I am raising my kids and as a West Pointer and combat veteran, I couldn’t stomach sitting back and watching our public safety continue to erode when I knew there were immediate solutions we could implement.
It would be the honor of my life to serve as the next Harris County Judge – this is a challenge that I have spent my career preparing for and I can think of no better opportunity to apply my unique skills than restoring accountable, efficient, and effective governance to Harris County.”
Alexandra Mealer
It is really not remarkable that Hanoi Jane is campaigning against Alexandra Mealer. Alexandra represents all that Hanoi Jane hates about America. Check out Alexandra’s bio:
Alexandra is a West Point graduate, a dual-degree holder from Harvard University (JD/MBA), and a proud wife and mother. She is blessed with two precocious toddlers who she is raising alongside her husband Clay, a fellow West Point graduate and combat veteran. On November 11, 2021, she announced her plans to leave the private sector and her career in oil & gas finance to pursue a new stage of service.
I liked this graphic that Michael Berry’s team put out:
Judge Hidalgo has already been bad for Harris County. Imagine another four years.
Early voting starts today. Go Vote! And take 10 neighbors and friends with you. Harris County has a unique opportunity to stop the madness.
Or you can do nothing and let Hanoi Jane win the day.

Good luck Harris County!

In a civilized world Jane Fonda would have been prosecuted for treason for supporting the North Vietnamese the way she did.
Did you know that treason is the only crime that’s spelled out in the Constitution. Fonda’s behavior fit that definition to a “T”. Here it is:
“Treason against the United States shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court.”
A lot of people in Congress wanted to prosecute her, but the Left won out with the lame excuse that the US wasn’t “officially” at war with North Vietnam because Congress never officially declared “war”.
Fonda thinks apologizing for what she did wiped her slate clean. Maybe it did in her far-left political circles, but not with those who fought and died over there. The fact that Hidalgo wants to associate with someone like Fonda says nothing good about Hidalgo.
Jerry Patterson says
A really dumb move by Hidalgo a wokester who has little knowledge of history unless it a history of “oppression”.
Charlotte L. Lampe says
Sooooo sorry I was out of town for the Hildago / Fonda crud..I would have been a shouting shadow everywhere they were! Fonda is a traitor and should not ever come to Texas. Fonda will be THE reason Mealer will put this off as the new County Judge…

Thank-You Jim ‘Mattress Mac’ McIngvale for making Houston, Harris County and the World a better place.
Bill says
The fact that typically (publicly) apolitical Mattress Mac has weighed in so strongly on this race just indicates how serious a problem we have right now. Mac is knowingly and intentionally pissing off a significant portion of his customer base. He’s cutting his own throat because his desire to see Harris County saved from becoming the next NYC or Seattle is worth selling less furniture, and worth the retaliation sure to follow if Dora wins reelection.
Brave. Thanks, Mac, for putting it all on the line. And thank you, Big Jolly, for not censoring legitimate comments.
PeterD says
“Apolitical”?!? While I agree Mealer is the superior candidate in every way that matters, Jim McIngvale has been actively endorsing and giving large sums of money to political candidates for decades. He’s endorsed gadflies such as Bill King, then flipping to support Sly Turner, Pierce Bush over Troy N., George P. Bush over Paxton, and many on both sides of the aisle. To date, I don’t see any evidence that he has lost any sleep or business over his choices.
Bill says
I stand corrected, and I will just say I do not recall Mac making commercials for any of those other candidates.

A Huge Contrast. Everyone get out and vote early. Tell all your friends and neighbors.
Patrick Hubbell says
Throughout US history, bonehead campaign decisions are as numerous as grocery carts in Houston bayous. In 1984, Walter Mondale, struggling to gain traction against an immensely popular Reagan, promised to raise taxes at the national Democratic convention. He went on to lose every state except his home state and – surprise! – the federal capital.
If I didn’t know better, I’d swear this is a Republican-hatched idea, but NO! This weekend, she’ll be knocking on doors in East Downtown for voters. Don’t expect her to be knocking on the doors of the American Legion.

Good luck against Lina and Hanoi Jane. Wish I was in Harris County
David Gerany says
Appalling that Lina can only muster the help of Hanoi Jane to help “protect the children”. A very sad and maddening look in to Hidalgo’s mindset.
Florence Bass says
Unfortunatly, young voters have no knowledge of Hanoi Jane they have not been taught/ informed of her tratorist acts during Viet Nam War,
All Vets need to protest Commie Hildago especially if Hanoi Jane appears in public together.
Marcia Connell Barnette says
As a widow of Vietnam Vet would never support Hanoi Jane or anyone who leans in that direction. Military veteran & West Point graduate sounds Alexandra Mealor sounds like the right person for the job. I live in Brazoria County but you can rest assured majority of voters in my district have the same sentiments.
Good luck & God speed
