Houston’s Pension-Class War Games Continue: Houston Firefighters Relief and Retirement Fund Weighs In

The Houston Firefighters’ Relief and Retirement Fund subsequently weighed in on the “crisis”, posting this on their website.

There’s no crisis over at the HFRRF.

The Chronicle editorial stated the pension of a Houston firefighter serving 40 years would be $10,000 more than the retired military pension of a brigadier general and the HFRRF fired back with this:

You BET this is all completely inappropriate!

In lieu of commenting on the funding level percentages among pensions, I’ll emphasize the obvious:

Public sector workers collectively bargain & elect union representation and the United States military does not.

What is so deceitful and despicable is for the Houston Chronicle and the individuals who formulated the HFRRF response to even USE the men and women of our United States military and their retiree military benefits in a chicken game of “Let’s Play Pension- Class Warfare” with each other.

Looks like HOPE was called in to re-direct the conversation back to the mandatory furloughs.

The public sector unions and their rank & file need to keep the “public” from picking up pitchforks, lest THEY end up being the ones referred to as “rich”.
