I’m going to be adding a few features in the coming months. I think that the March 2010 Republican Primary is critical to the future of the party in Harris County and to Texas as a whole. For this reason, I’m going to be setting up a candidate information page for each and every contested race on the Harris County ballot. If you are a candidate, you will be listed. I will give priority to those candidates who send me a request to be included and you will have input into the data. Candidates that do not email me will have information posted of my choosing. The email address is [email protected] or you can use the Contact form.
Another idea I have for the candidate pages is to let people know where a candidate stands regarding the HCRP chairman’s race. If you have read any of my work, you will know that I think the Harris County Republican Party is in desperate need of a new chairman with new ideas. We must return the party to the inclusive model of Ronald Reagan, not the divisive, exclusionary model the current chair has used. As such, I need a logo to put on a candidate’s page so that people will readily see if that candidate supports the current chair or if the candidate comprehends the dire straits we are in. My first thought was a BIG RED X over the candidate’s picture but I’m not sure if that is the best way or not. For a list of those supporting the current chair, see his endorsement list by clicking here .
I could also use any feedback on the site in general. Topics are welcome, tips on stories and events are more welcome, technical difficulties will be a priority. Internet Explorer users should no longer have a problem with “Operation Aborted” messages. You can use the email above or the Contact form.
In addition, I really need a good logo. If you have a good idea, I might even be persuaded to pay for it. It also looks like I may add a couple of bloggers, which would really pump up the site.
Okay, so there you have it. Bottom line is, I’m having fun meeting and talking to lots of people. Obviously it is a long shot to replace an entrenched incumbent but there are some very good challengers and I’m hopeful that it can be done. There is a groundswell of energy in the conservative ranks and it is exciting to be a part of it. If we can save the Harris County Republican Party from imploding, we’ll all be better off. And do not make the mistake of thinking this is a vendetta against Jared Woodfill because it is not. Even if he doesn’t return my calls or emails.
I’m just passionate about saving the Republican Party in Harris County and this is the only way I have to influence anyone. Even if it is only two people.
