That's right, I'll be back on the air tomorrow with Natalie Arceneaux of The Civil Right Online. We'll be discussing the latest goings on of the Texas Legislature, including passage of HB 4, HB 275, and the ongoing debate on HB 1. Plus I'm sure she'll ambush me with an issue that is certain to get people mad at me. She's good at that.
It's only for an hour and it moves FAST so make sure you tune in at 10:00 am sharp in Houston on Talk 650 AM.
If you haven't been watching the debate today on HB 1, you should tune in for at least a short time. Most of it is boring but once in a while you'll be amused, frustrated, or just plain angry. For instance, if I hear another Republican say that an amendment that spends money should be passed because if we don't, we'll miss out on the "free" federal matching money I'll scream! Watching "conservative" Republicans defend funding the Texas Commission on the Arts instead of using that money to fund community based services for disabled elederly people was disheartening at best. Seeing Rep. Mike "Tuffy" Hamilton make a blatant sexual innuendo joke at the expense of Rep. Marisa Marquez was uncomfortable – most of us would be fired if we did that in the workplace.
If you can't watch it, follow along on Twitter.

Big,
Luckily, most state legislators never get any further than the state houses. We have too many wack jobs in the Congress now.
