I wanted to express my gratitude to Barry Smitherman, candidate for Texas Attorney General, for taking time out of his busy day to visit the “America Family Law Center”. Barry spent several hours with Bob Lansink, me, and several volunteer attorneys from the organization and later joined us for lunch.
Barry was able to see firsthand what the organization does and how it interfaces with the Texas Attorney General’s Office every day. The office was crowded the morning of his visit with many men and women seeking help with all kinds of different issues. Barry took the time to ask questions of the staff and learned how the Attorney General’s Office impacts the lives of people as they proceed through the divorce process. Child custody is a big issue for many people in divorce. The impact of divorce and how it affects children and the development of a healthy relationship with both parents is the goal of Fathers for Equal Rights. I wrote a story for Big Jolly about this Christian mission for Bob Lansink.
Again, I wish to thank Barry for taking time out his busy schedule for this important visit.
